One arrested after suspected drugs seized in Co Derry

Seizure was made in Eglinton area

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of suspected drugs in Co Derry.

The seizure happened in the Eglinton area after police spotted a car driving in the outskirts of the village with only one headlight working at around 3am on Friday.

Officers searched the vehicle and found a quantity of suspected drugs, and a during a follow-up search at an address more suspected drugs were recovered.



The driver was arrested on suspicion of offences including Possession of a Class A controlled drug, Possession of a Class C controlled drug and being concerned in an offer to supply a Class C controlled drug.

He was released on bail on Friday to allow for further enquiries.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Enquiries are ongoing.”
