THIS mid-term, why not treat the kids to a little creative fun, while you treat yourself to a coffee at one of Belfast's Creative Cafes?

The new mini-festival runs from February 18 to 22 in various venues including Costa Coffee, Café Nero, Clements and Easons and the best news is all events are free.

The programme includes a visit to the Mad Hatter's Tea Party hosted by the award-winning theatre company C21, and a chance to make your own animated adventure using Lego with the Cando Academy.

Café Nero in Fountain Street is the venue for a journey around the world, where ArtsEkta will use interactive music, dance and craft workshops to reveal the richness and beauty of other cultures.

And for some messy fun a visit to the crazy kids’ laboratory at Castle Court will see the Institute of Physics and Science Stars facilitating slime making, UV picture painting and blowing up marshmallows.

The Creative Cafés festival is part of the Belfast City Council’s ongoing programme of investment in city centre animation aimed at driving footfall to the city.
