FIT-out specialist Marcon has been appointed by catering and facilities services company Mount Charles to oversee work at its innovative new food outlet at Belfast International Airport.
Working with Horscroft Design, the Marcon project team is creating a new collection of eateries called the Northern QTR, a concept conceived by Mount Charles to rival the food and beverage offering of any top tier UK airport.
The 12-week project involves the extension and fit-out of the existing departures lounge to create the extra space for the new Northern QTR.
The new area will have a renovated Fed and Watered along with the addition of two new and innovative food and beverage destinations – Coco Diablo Mexican Cantina and the popular all-Ireland brand Chopped, where healthy fast food is created in minimum time in open-theatre chopping stations.
The main feature of the new area will the eye-catching 24 metres long, oval-shaped NQTR Bar which will be manufactured in Marcon’s specialist joinery workshop along with other bespoke items for the new area.
Mark O’Connor from Marcon comments “Over the years we've built up a wealth of experience working air-side and land-side at various airports, and this new Northern QTR will prove to be an excellent addition for passengers at Belfast International.”
Gavin Annon from Mount Charles added: “We are making a significant investment in delivering three strong brands and a stunning bar for passengers to enjoy before they travel, and we're excited to see Marcon bring our ideas to life."
