BELFAST civil engineering firm Charles Brand has secured a contract to deliver a new road scheme highways work to support the delivery of HS2 Phase One.
The first phase of the scheme will see a new high speed railway line constructed from Euston to north of Birmingham, where it will re-join the existing West Coast Mainline.
The new line between London and Birmingham will run on 140 miles of dedicated track.
Part of the Lagan Specialist Contracting Group, Charles Brand will be working for the Align JV, an HS2 main works civils contractor, responsible for the delivery of the portion of HS2 that includes a viaduct over the Colne Valley.
Charles Brand has been contracted to deliver highways works a new road scheme in near Denham, required to support the construction of the viaduct.
The firm's managing director Niall McGill said: “HS2 is an iconic civil engineering project to be involved with, and we’re thrilled to have secured this element of the works for the Align JV.”
