Abbey CBS pay tribute to late Jody Gormley in narrow Rannafast Cup final defeat

Jody’s son James was among a strong Abbey CBS crowd in attendance in Dungannon.

Abbey CBS remembered Jody Gormley in their Rannafast Cup final tonight, as they donned jerseys of the Tyrone legend’s club Trillick in a narrow 0-10 0-9 defeat in Dungannon.

Gormley, a teacher in the Newry school, passed away after a battle with cancer on December 9, and his son James was among those in attendance. Jody is also a former pupil of Abbey CBS.

On the pitch, Omagh seized a narrow victory, as they add the Rannafast success to Dalton, Corn na Og, Oisin McGrath titles.

Captain Diarmuid Martin kicked the winning point in injury time for the Tyrone outfit.
