Playr-Fit have launched new jerseys inspired by Care for Caolán and the late Caolán Finnegan of Crossmaglen.
‘Stringer’ as he was affectionately known, passed away in August after a valiant battle with an aggressive form of cancer on the brain.
The 20-year-old was a key figure for Crossmaglen Rangers, while Finnegan also played for Armagh at all underage levels.
Although an infectious figure throughout life in the local community, Finnegan’s grá for football was clear in his final months, with Armagh’s All-Ireland win described as “a great lift at a very difficult time” by Parish Priest Father Dermot Maloney at his funeral.
A Crossmaglen Rangers spokesperson also said back in August:
“We are so proud of you Caolan. A true Ranger.
“You will be forever remembered as one of the greatest who ever donned the black and amber. Forever in our hearts.”
More recently, the Care for Caolán group announced a donation of £70,000 raised, with three charities benefitting from the money raised back in November on what would have been Caolán’s 21st birthday.
Several fundraisers were organised by the group, such as the ‘Stroll for Stringer’ walking event, from Crossmaglen to Donaghmoyne in Co Monaghan, that saw hundreds of people turn out back in June.

A link is now available to purchase a commemorative jersey on Playr-Fit’s social channels. The pale blue and navy strip dons the letters ‘CFC’ for Care for Caolán on the front, with several images of Finnegan on the back, the most striking of which feature the young man in his beloved colours of Crossmaglen.
Playr-Fit expect delivery to take five weeks once the link expires on 14 January.
