CANADIAN fast food chain Mary Brown’s Chicken will open its first Belfast outlet on July 24.
Founded in 1969, the Ontario-based company is the latest international food brand to take on a unit in the revamped Odyssey complex.
MB Chicken selected the Northern Ireland market to make its European debut in February 2024, when it opened an outlet at the Lisburn Leisure Park.
The fast-growing food group has confirmed it is staying within the Northern Ireland market for just its restaurant outside of North America.
But it’s understood new openings are expected later this year in Dublin and London.

“We are excited to announce that MB chicken is crossing the road from Lisburn to Belfast as we continue our UK expansion plans,” said Dylan Powell, MB Chicken’s VP for international development.
“We’re delighted that ice hockey legends The Belfast Giants, who we are supporting for their 2024/2025 season, are joining us for the launch and we look forward to extending a big Canadian welcome to those living in or visiting the Belfast area this week.”
The Canadian food chain has announced it will give away 100 ‘Big Mary’ chicken sandwiches to those interested in sampling their food from 11am on July 24.
MB Chicken’s new Odyssey eatery joins the recently opened Nando’s, Zizzi and Five Guys outlets inside the complex, which underwent a £17 million revamp during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Chapter & Verse, a new independently owned bar and restaurant, is set to open in August, with arcade and entertainment specialist Funstation, due to open in September.
It will join existing leisure operators Cineworld, Lost City Golf and Hollywood Bowl.
