Teenage boy and man killed in Mayo crash

The crash involving a car and a tractor occurred on the N83 near Levallyroe in Co Mayo shortly after 8pm on Friday.

A man and teenage boy have been killed in a crash in which two others were injured.

The crash involving a car and a tractor occurred on the N83 near Levallyroe in Co Mayo shortly after 8pm on Friday.

The teenage boy and man, who were in the car, were fatally injured in the crash.

Another teenage boy who was in the car was transferred to Mayo University Hospital where he is said to be “in a serious condition”.

The tractor driver, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to the same hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The road remained closed on Saturday morning to facilitate a forensic examination of the scene.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward and a liaison officer has been appointed to the family.
