A man is due to appear in court charged with the attempted murder of an off duty police officer following a shooting earlier this week.
The 29-year-old is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with attempted murder, false imprisonment and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
These charges are connected to a shooting incident on Beverley Road in Newtownabbey on Monday evening.
The shooting happened around 9.30pm. The PSNI confirmed he is a police officer who was off duty at the time of the shooting. He was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police also said they did not believe the shooting was terrorism-related.
