Man due in court following report of Irvinestown shooting

A 26-year-old man has been charged by police investigating a shooting incident in Irvinestown, in Co Fermanagh.

The man has been charged with possession of a firearm or imitation firearm with intent to cause fear or violence; possession of a Class A and Class C drug; and possession of ammunition in suspicious circumstances.



The charges relate to a report a shot was fired, in the direction of two men, from a vehicle travelling on the Kesh Road on Friday evening, June 28. No injuries were reported.

The man is due before Enniskillen Magistrates’ Court on Monday, July 1. As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Meanwhile, a 32-year-old man also arrested in connection with this investigation has been released on bail pending further police enquiries.
