A man is due in court charged with several online sex offences, including sexual communication with a child and blackmail.
The 22-year-old is due before Dungannon Magistrates Court on Saturday.
Following his arrest on Friday, he was questioned over communicating sexually with two children, along with inciting sexual activity and blackmail.
He was detained in the Toome area and then questioned by detectives from South West CID.
The alleged offences relate to two separate child victims, police said. He remained in custody on Friday evening.
“So-called ‘sextortion’, particularly where a child victim is involved, is a heinous and disgusting crime,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
“The perpetrators want to shame their victims into keeping quiet about their ordeal and blackmail them for money.
“I want any young person out there who may be experiencing this to know that police are here to help you.
“There is nothing to be ashamed of. You can contact us in confidence and you will be treated with dignity and respect.”
