A man has been arrested after a nurse in a Belfast hospital was attacked and placed in a headlock.
The incident happened in the Royal Jubilee Maternity Hospital on Saturday, and police are appealing for a man who intervened in the attack to contact them.
The assault was reported to police shortly before 8.30pm, and the nurse, who is aged in her 20s, was “placed in a headlock by a male assailant”, police said.
A female receptionist was also grabbed on the shoulder by the male.
Police arrived and arrested a man in his 30s, who has since been charged with a number of offences.
“As part of our ongoing investigation, we would like to speak with the man who intervened during the assault and brought the attacker to the ground, and was himself assaulted in the process,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
