A pedestrian is said to be in ‘critical but stable’ condition in hospital after being hit by a vehicle in south Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police received reports at around 12.30am on Sunday that a man in his 20s had collided with a vehicle in the Donegall Road area.

“Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service,” a police spokesperson said.

“Medical treatment was provided at the scene – and the pedestrian was transported to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

“He remains in a critical but stable condition at this time. No other injuries were reported. Meanwhile, the road which was closed for a time has since reopened to traffic.”

Officers are asking that anyone who was travelling in the area between midnight and 12.30am review their dash-cam footage and contact them on 101, quoting reference 43 of 15/12/24.
