A WEEK on from the disappearance of Philip Porter and police have issued fresh images in a bid to try and locate him.
The 46-year-old was last seen on the Lurgan Road in Moira, Co Down, on Thursday, December 5 at around 2.15am.
Police said on Thursday that they are “growing increasing concerned” about his whereabouts as they issued a renewed appeal to find him.
Speaking to The Irish News, PSNI Inspector Barry Moore said: “Philip was last seen on CCTV at 2.19am on the Lurgan Road in Moira and that’s where the trail ends.
“We know that he was making his way in the direction of Magheralin.”
He added that they had “carried out extensive searches, but so far nothing”.
“He left the family home and was walking on the Lurgan Road towards Magheralin, he was last sighted at Linen Fields,” he said.
“We are still making enquiries, this is an extensive investigation and investigative actions are ongoing.”
Mr Moore said they are still appealing to residents and business owners in Moira to check their properties.
“We are asking business owners in Moira to check their yards, store rooms and premises as well as asking residents to check their sheds and outbuildings,” he said. “We are also asking motorists who were travelling in the Moira and Magheralin areas between 2.15am and 6am on Thursday 5th December to review any dash-cam footage they may have that could assist with our enquiries. “Philip had also made reference to travelling to the Mourne Mountains so if anyone in that area who believes they may have seen Philip, should contact police.”
Mr Moore added: “Philip is described as 5’7 in height, with grey coloured hair and of slim build.
“He was last seen wearing navy blue trousers, a navy coloured jacket and a green and black checked shirt. “He also had on a navy hoodie with white toggles under his jacket and was wearing black high-top trainers with gummy/beige soles.”
