Police investigation launched after man’s body found in Newry

Police are investigating following the discovery of a man’s body in Newry.

Emergency services were called to a property in the Sandys Street area on Sunday afternoon.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police in Newry received a report of a sudden death at an address in Sandys Street on Sunday, June 2.

“A post mortem is to be held in due course to establish the cause of death.

“Enquiries are ongoing, and there are no further details at this stage.”

The name of the deceased has not yet been released.
