Significant damage caused after car crashes into north Belfast home

Witnesses or those with dash-cam or CCTV footage are asked to contact police

Police have said “significant” damage has been caused to a family home in north Belfast after a car crashed into the property.

It happened at a cul-de-sac in the Blackdam close area, off the Ligoniel Road, on Monday night.

The vehicle crashed through a low perimeter wall and metal fencing around the property damaging an exterior wall and a living-room window.

It is understood the incident is being treated as accidental and the occupants of the home were not in the room at the time.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Police received a report on Monday, 16th September at approximately 10.10pm that a car had crashed into the wall of a house in the Blackdam Close area of north Belfast.

“Officers attended, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service.



“Significant damage was caused to the front of the property.

“Thankfully, no injuries were reported.”

Anyone who witnessed what happened or who has dash-cam or CCTV footage is asked to contact police.
