Trio arrested in UDA crime probe released

A report will now be sent to the Public Prosecution Service

Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of RUC Constable Robert John McPherson and the attempted murder of another officer in Dungiven, Co Derry, in July 1975

Three men arrested by police investigating criminality linked to the west Belfast UDA have been released.

The men, aged 40, 43 and 60, were arrested under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act following searches by officers from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force in north and south Belfast on Wednesday morning.



The trio were taken to Musgrave Serious Crime Suite for questioning before later being released, while a report will be forwarded to the Public prosecution Service.
