Two cars torched in arson attack in east Belfast

A home and another car also damaged in what police are describing as arson with intent to endanger life

Detectives are appealing for information following a report of arson which occurred at the Dunraven Court area of east Belfast on Monday 26th August.

Detective Sergeant Kitchen said: “Shortly after 3:35am, it was reported that a white Mercedes CLA and a silver Volkswagen Tiguan were set alight. Both cars were completely destroyed, with damage also reported to a red Citroen Berlingo which was also parked in the area. A residential premises nearby received damage to its windows as a result of the heat. Colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended and dealt with the incident and there were no reports of any injuries.

Police are investigating the torching and destruction of two cars along with damage to a nearby house in east Belfast early on Monday.

The arson attack happened at Dunraven Court close to the Bloomfield Road around 3.30am. A white Mercedes CLA and a silver Volkswagen Tiguan were set alight.

“Both cars were completely destroyed, with damage also reported to a red Citroen Berlingo which was also parked in the area,” a PSNI spokesperson said.
