Almost 20 restaurants and takeaways have been shortlisted as the best in Northern Ireland at the British Kebab Awards.

Now in its 13th year the awards aim to recognise the efforts and contributions of local kebab takeaways and restaurants.

According to the British Kebab Awards website the event is an opportunity to “thank the unsung heroes, the hardworking people behind the great little kebab takeaway and restaurant places and give them the chance to say definitively that they have the best kebab restaurant.”

The awards ceremony, which will take place in February, has become a key event in the culinary calendar, welcoming industry leaders, celebrities, politicians, influencers, as well as hard-working restaurant owners and workers for an evening of celebration.
